How can I stop my daughter being scared of dogs and cats?

So this is a new anxiety that my daughter has developed over the last couple of weeks. She has never had a problem with my cat before but suddenly now the cat is the scariest thing in the house! I don't know where this has come from, the cat hasn't done anything to her (she's 13 and such a scaredy cat!), but now every time the cat goes anywhere near my daughter she starts screaming (she's 3 btw). Oh and this fear now extends to dogs too, we don't have a dog but she's always loved them, but when we went out today and saw a few dogs she started to get all shouty and nervous.

I need to nip this in the bud pretty quickly so I'd love to hear your ideas.

Thank you ! eek
