Bringing up a child or children in a same sex parental
environment has been proven to be just as healthy and beneficial for a child as
it would be if the parents were opposite sexes. In most modern societies, there
is no law preventing lesbian, gay or bisexual individuals from adopting
children and raising them as part of a family. There is already a significant percentage of families with
same sex parents and children in these environments are generally looked after
better than they would be elsewhere. However, raising a child or children isn’t
without its fair share of stress and headaches. Unfortunately, there are still
people with hetero-sexist and homophobic attitudes and beliefs which can affect
families in many ways. Same sex parents can find support here through
questions, answers and conversation.
